About

Trees Up Tompkins (TUT) began in 2019 when we met for Project Drawdown, an initiative to help reverse global climate change.

We were all interested in planting trees to help in this effort and began meeting once a month until a plan evolved.

We planted our first trees in October 2019, and organized our first community planting in April 2020.

See GET INVOLVED for our next planting and clearing dates.

We plant trees because they:

Filter air pollution

Lower temperatures

Help manage storm water runoff

Improve health and well-being

Provide beauty

Draw down CO2 from the atmosphere
